Try having a reward for when she goes or a sticker board that’s what we did cause my daughter loves stickers. I’ve seen moms do a prize box but can get pricey depending on how long it takes
@Monique rewards honestly aren’t working. I have stickers for peds and a few chocolate chips for poos but after a few days it turned into her wanting two and a total meltdown if she only got one then begging for them all day.
@Stephanie I agree that’s it’s totally fine but she seemed ready that’s why we started. My husband doesn’t want to put her back in diapers but I do since a there are so many accidents. When you potty trained how long did accidents happen?
The easiest way to potty train is to take a good 3-4 days where you have nothing to do and can stay home all day and watch for their signs of about to wee or poo. Doing by a timer or reward system doesn’t work. It’s about teaching them to learn their own body. Some make a certain face or squat or even just look down as it’s coming out. When that happens take her straight to the toilet and talk about wee and poo going in the toilet with lots of positive feedback. And try your best not to be upset or say anything like “that’s naughty” when they have an accident. If you find it goes well and then they go backwards it often helps to just go straight back to nappies or pull ups for another 3 - 6 months and start again. Sometimes they are just not ready and you will just be stressing yourself out about it.
I started mine when he was almost 3 but was showing signs that he was ready. (Hated having poop in his diaper) and telling me when he felt like going. It did take about 4 days. We didn’t leave the house or anything. I had him in only his underwear. And had a little potty in the bedroom ((we were sharing a room at someone else’s home at the time)) the first 2 days, I definitely cried but by the third day he would lower his underwear and sit on the potty. After like a week and a half, we slowly upgraded to the actual toilet in the bathroom :)
She's still so young. She has time to figure it out. Just be patient with her and maybe try a reward system when she goes.
It might be good to put her back in the diaper cause then maybe she will end up hating the feeling of the diaper and want to be able to wear big girl underwear. We also took my daughter to the store and let her pick out the underwear she wanted so she was happy to wear them. She ended up with boys Cars underwear for the first few weeks but she was always happy to put them on
We’ve been fully potty trained since her second birthday but I still put a pull up on her at night cause her waking up to pee is still 50/50 and she has a fit about it but she loves to drink milk right before bed so I don’t want to deal with the mess
My pediatrician said the absolute minimum age she sees successful, in general, is 2.5 years for girls and 3 for boys
She might not be ready yet and that’s okay. My oldest potty trained at 3.5 years old and my youngest is 3.5 and we’re barely gonna try
