C section

I am 36 weeks and 2 days I've been told today that I have to have a c-section for my birth bc my baby is breech and he will most likely stay like that when he is due ( I was hoping to give birth naturally) There any tips for people that have had a c section because this is my first baby and my first surgery and im a bit nervous 😩😅

I had a emergency c section , but it went fine they numb you just make sure you pack accordingly and just trust the doctors xx

I had a planned c section and it went so well, just be patient with yourself after because it is major surgery but nothing to be worried about. Keep on top of painkillers after and lots of rest with little bit of movement. I found it a really calming experience as the midwife came down with me, talked to me all the way through and was with me after for a while

I had an c section and it was absolutely fine, first baby and first hospital stay! I was up moving (to a chair and back) within a few hours and home within 48 hours. I did however, go in for a planned section as baby was breech and she turned in the hours/days before (she was breech at 38w and section was 39w). As she’d recently turned she was very high in my pelvis and they induced me to get her to lower but she struggled to get into position so I had a section anyway. But I was so unprepared for labour as I was expecting a planned section so keep an open mind! Babies sometimes turn very late 😊

I had an elective section and it was the dream. Lots of helpful groups on here and FB regarding sections. Would choose section any day 😊

I had an emergency c section due to complications. It was really quick and painless. My legs swelled a lot - the more you move the quicker it goes down, and I had a lot of wind which was painful so I recommend packing a bottle of gavascon.x

Can you request an ecv, I had one at 37 weeks because my little one was breech and it was successful at turning her but unfortunately due to an infection I ended up having to need an emergency section xx

Buy a pill caddy to keep on top of medication

Ok it’s easier said than done but try not to worry too much about a C section! Particularly if it’s planned. I had a planned section after 3 weeks in hospital prior, it was the safest thing for me and my baby. The surgery itself is daunting prior but once you’re in there and you’ve met your team who will be looking after you, the adrenaline of knowing very shortly you’ll be meeting your baby, is a thought to hold on to. Trust the surgeons and nurses involved and make a playlist to distract you if your hospital allows this. We still have the playlist now and it makes me emotional listening to it. The recovery is challenging but make sure you have a supportive partner and family around you to help where needed and definitely keep on top of the pain relief! Good luck 🥰

I would try my best to stay away from a c-section. My mom had 4/6 kids with a c-section and said she would never have a c-section again. If she could go back and redo it, she would. If you have a really good chiro they may be able to help you with adjustments and giving you different excersizes. Definitely fight fir what you want momma. I personally know different women who have given breech births as well. But make sure you have a good provider for breech births. Not every dr/midwife is comfortable with it or have enough knowledge to help you birth breech naturally!

Take it some isotonic drinks( lucaazde sport ) helps with hydration. Take own pain relief. Size up on clothes as I ballooned last time. Take own pillow. Get up and down as much as possible even if its for a 30 second walk that slowly increases. Yes, it hurts ( not the operation) but when you've got that baby it's all worth it.
