Pre-eclampsia

So i’m 29 weeks on sunday and i just had an episode of blurry vision and high blood pressure, went to the ER, and after a 3 day stay I was officially diagnosed with pre-eclampsia. Im overall a healthy person and Thank God everything about baby came back perfect, but I’ve never dealt with anything like this before and I just feel down about it I guess. I really don’t want her to be preterm, or for anything to happen to me either being that it makes you at serious health risks. Has anyone had pre-eclampsia, can you be so kind as to tell me a little bit about what life looked like for you with it or how you dealt with it, and how birth was, and after birth? I’m not sure if i should just bedrest myself for the rest of my pregnancy or its okay to go about life as long as I take it easy, go to my appts, and monitor my BP. And now just the slightest little headache, heart beating fast, anything has me freaking out. Any advice would be great I’m a first time mom and just kind of scared and unsure about what to do/whats happening. Thanks in advance!

I delivered my baby at 37 weeks due to high blood pressure that developed into pre-eclampsia after I gave birth. I was at the hospital for 4 days trying to control my blood pressure with the right medication. After almost 6 weeks, i am still taking BP medication but a lot less than when I was first discharged. Pre-eclampsia is pretty scary but you caught it early so thats great. Typically pre-eclampsia BP stabilizes once you give birth. And eventually, you don’t need to take medication anymore.

They found out I had severe preclampsia at 40 week with no symptoms other than swelling, went for routine midwife app, found protein in urine, no growth for two weeks and high BP, i was sent straight to hospital induced and then delivered morning after with some complications. Took couple months for my BP to come down and slowly reduced tablets then now I'm fine no lasting complications. I would say any concerns ring your midwife, it better to be safe than sorry.

First time mom here too that developed preeclampsia. Mine started at 35 weeks just on the cut off of high BP 170/90. In a couple days I developed upper stomach pain. Went into the hospital and was induced and delivered at 36 weeks. They gave me magnesium. If you can avoid magnesium AVOID it is awful. I ended up in. C-section after three days of labor and a failed full induction. Baby went to NICU for a couple nights. As for me we both stay in the hospital for a bit to monitor. I went home with BP medicine that I took for two months. My BP is now normal but they wanted to follow up with a Cardiologist.
