camping

hi guys, how old would you take a baby/toddler camping? so i’m due in April, and my family always do a 5 day camp every August for my dads birthday. so if i were to go next year, baby would be 3/4 months when we would be due to go. is that too young? online says babies as young as 2-3 months can go camping if you’re ready to take all their baby supplies, but i wondered if anyone here had any actual experiences of camping with a young baby and how it was? we haven’t gone for a while due to expenses etc, we have a three year old who we camped with once when he was just over a year and a half, but i haven’t been on my dads annual camping trip quite a few years before my three year old so i’d love to go next year but if you all recommend waiting till the year after then i’ll do that x

We went camping when my baby was 8 weeks and it was honestly quite easy. It’s definitely a lot easier if you’re breastfeeding Feel free to message me if you want any advice x

Our little one was only 1 month old on her very first camping trip. We just drove from the UK to Switzerland camping on the way and she’s 2.5 months. We found it very doable, I would say just make sure you have decent equipment and enough nappies + milk. Babies are easy, it gets harder once they start moving around 😉

First camp trip was 6 mths only ve because he was a January baby and wanted to wait until it was warmer.... it's so much easier than when they start walking 🤣

My baby who is 4m now was 10 weeks when we took him camping with his sister and other family. My daughter was 1yr 10m when we managed to take her fir her first camping trip last year. My baby absolutely loved it. He slept great and was so happy all weekend, not a murmur (other than in the car ride there and back as he hated his car seat and got hungry half way due to being breastfed) there really wasn't much we needed to take for him other than something fir him to sleep in, clothes, nappy stuff and roll up blanket with couple of toys. He didn't even use the blanket and toys much as he was too interested in nature and family etc x
