Colostrum

Does anyone who birthed at Joan Kirner know if I can bring my harvested colostrum when in labour?

Sure, they wouldn't know anyway. Once you birth and go in your ward they leave you alone most of the time.

@Lee I’d need a freezer or fridge for them to store it tho

@Agnes didnt think of that. Do you have any more appointments? So you can ask

@Lee yep I’ve got one tomorrow, I’m gonna ask her 😊

Can't see any issue since they give out the syringes to collect

They will store it for you and you can ask for it when needing it for feeds. They will just label it with your stickers they give out.

You wouldn’t need to take much with you for baby a syringe or two would probably do I’d think? I could be wrong though. So maybe you could take it in an insulated flask full of ice or something that would last 24 hours at a time.

@Alexis I’ll take more, my first was separated from me for a few hours and he had about 2-3 formula feeds before he was released from nursery :(

@Agnes I took 25mL in with me and then also collected another 30 or so while there for 1 day. I used pretty much all of it ☺️ take as much as you can and need too whatever you don’t use I got to take home with me
