Induced

So I am 36 weeks today. Really struggling with my 10 month old in the sense of putting her in her cot, rocking her to sleep, picking her up off the floor due to my bump. And I’m sore in general with sore back, sore stomach, sore hips. If I spoke to my midwife and explained this do you think this is a reason they would induce me about 38 weeks ?

It’s unlikely they would induce you for this reason. The midwife would need to refer you to a consultant anyway for this as midwives cannot make the decision for an induction before your due date

I doubt it love, I’m struggling the same and with pelvic issues and have a three year old, I’m 38w4d and rang the crisis team yesterday as my mental health was rock bottom I was crying down the phone to them because I have a horrible fear my baby isn’t going to make it before my c section next week and I asked if it can be brought forward or even if I can be admitted for constant monitoring until my c section date and she told me no can do and to go on a walk with a family member or do a jigsaw puzzle to take my mind off it 🙃 😙✌🏼 so that was fantastic! I know it’s sooo hard lovely and I’m not even going to say “not long left now” to you because if one more person says that to me I’m going to lose my shit 😅

@Jess no way !! That is terrible. I hope you’re ok. I honestly feel it’s dragging in now and getting so much harder.

No. You’d need a medical reason (you or your baby at risk) to be induced before your due date, and then would need to be approved by a consultant. Induction comes with a lot of risks so the NHS avoids it unless they believe it’s necessary and feeling sore and achey won’t be deemed necessary. I know how hard it is! I’m almost 38 weeks with my 16 month old and struggling but this is the final stretch. You got this! xx
