@Jenna (Jen) I have tried this actually as I thought the ambient noise might help her settle but she screamed the whole time and people were giving us such dirty looks that I just left and cried in the car instead 🤣
Oh no! Well it's worth a try! Anything in your morning routine that might lead up to you this? It could be worth reworking your morning. This being said you aren't alone. I have no idea how to console my girl today she is full on
I'm not there yet so I don't really have any advice but this sounds kinda like purple crying. Make sure you're checking in with yourself and taking time when you need it. If you need to just put them down in a safe place for a few minutes so you can walk away and take a deep breath then make sure you're taking that time. https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/articles/purple-crying
@Jenna (Jen) not that I can think of! She wakes up naturally about 7.30am and is all smiles haha! We have quite a relaxed morning with a dog walk, I have lunch whilst she has some tummy/play time with dad and then once he leaves it’s like a totally different baby… I might try and change things up tomorrow and see if this helps!
@Vanessa yes this is pretty much spot on. My doctor mentioned colic which is just another phrase for purple crying, I’m praying she grows out of it (she’s 9 weeks today) in a few weeks. I have put her down and collected myself a few times, I think the only saving grace that apart from between 2pm - 10pm she is absolutely perfect and sleeps very well so at least I’m not adding exhaustion into the mix. Praying I haven’t jinxed myself here 🫣
Are you breastfeesing or pumping? Could there be something that you eat either for breakfast or lunch that could upset her stomach for the afternoon while it's digesting? Lactose?
@May I’m actually taking her to the doctors to see if this is a possibility. I’ve been eating dairy for lunch most days. The past 3 days I’ve cut it out to see if this makes a difference, I think it can take 2-4 weeks to see results though. I’ve also cut out caffeine to see if that helps! Her big sister (my step daughter) had really bad CMPA as did her dad when he was a baby so think this could be a possibility although the GP initially said no as her poos were normal and she had clear skin 😒
Have you tried popping to a cafe? Sounds strange but my little one is occasionally v grumpy, seems a bit constant of late, but she will chill out in a busy cafe and sleep in my arms.
