I had an elective at the general and didn’t move my dates they were brilliant with me, obviously I was told if emergencies come in they will take priority which wasn’t an issue as I’d rather someone deliver their baby safely but mine was great x
@Natalie I'm so happy that I have seen your comment, my midwife wants me to have an elective section but wasn't sure as I didn't think u could have them at the general. I had my first baby emergency at the general and wanted my second one there also, so this has completely relaxed my anxiety. Thank you 😊
I can’t comment on the general other than to say that at the royal, they have a completely seperate theatre and team for elective sections, whereas at the general, there is only shared theatres for both elective and emergencies. So with the royal, your time is protected, but at the general, if an emergency comes in, it will take priority and electives will be rescheduled. Hope that helps to explain it a bit x
