We are doing a mixture currently 😌xx
I'm going to do BLW and she will have what we have for dinner but I'm still going to use some purees for when we have spicier dinners or takeaways etc.
I used just purée/pouches for the first month with my first I think 🤔 definitely didn’t start BLW straight away anyway. Then I just started adding bits on the side of the purée/mashed food
I plan on doing purees to begin with my baby chockes on milk so there is zero chance I'm doing whole foods first
Traditional weening (purées) is definitely not seen as lazy it’s just exactly that - traditional. BLW is more modern and advised because it gets babies used to texture straight away therefore using their fine motor controls / chewing instead of just swallowing and apparently means babies are less fussy with food. I want to do predominately BLW but I am worried about choking so will likely combine. But by combine I mean offer hand food and mashed food at the same time. But as others have said I’ll probably offer some pouches too when the food I’m making isn’t convenient for baby. For example (I’ve not started yet) but tonight I’m having Thai red curry and I wouldn’t offer that my baby … just yet 😂😅 x
Thank you everyone! I’m leaning more towards the combined way! x
We have started last weekend and are also doing a combined approach. This week has mainly been first tastes of a variety of veggies - broccoli, avocado, spinach, potato, carrot... It's fun, but very messy 😅
I'm doing a mixture ☺️ I'm going to use pouches but also where I can I'll prep a big version so I've got a pouch of Carrot but I'm also going to boil a Carrot for her to play with. Full BLW scares me too x
