Newly diagnosed and confused

I have ARFID which for me means I only eat carbs and sugar. I haven't eaten any meat other than chicken nuggets, fruit, veg, anything like brown bread etc since I was 2 years old. So this diagnosis really threw a spanner in the works. After a phone call with the specialist she told me to just eat as normal because otherwise I would literally starve and we can always go the medicine route. So far, all my readings have been fine? I haven't changed a thing? I'm so confused as to why I'm here in the first place if my readings are all in the recommended range? Maybe I'm not completely understanding some info.

It was the same for me! I was actually hypo more often than not. Just keep doing what you’re doing and as long as your numbers are fine then don’t worry x

My reading were fine till the 3rd x trimester then it started spiking during pregnancy how your body break that stuff down is ever changing it might be fine now but in 3 wks it might not it’s normal tho

@Jubilee oh I see, I'm in my third trimester already but it's interesting how it can keep changing. Thank you!

So GD like most things exists on a spectrum. Some people have really mild version, some people have severe. The glucose test is a stress test that puts your body in an unusual circumstance to test if you have trouble getting your sugar back down over the course if it. It doesn't mean you'll have high readings, which I know is confusing. But essentially your diet might not be "bad" enough to spike you, which is great. It also can get worse over time, so its good to be aware. If you can't do the diet then just watching your numbers and knowing meds may be in your future should be fine.
