Just eat less carbs and more protein with veggies.
Drink lots of water is what I say with whatever else you are eating and drinking. I already take 2,000 MG of metformin daily before I got pregnant and I didn't pass my gestational diabetes tests, both the one (by one point) and 3 hour, and got put on insulin but haven't had to use it yet. I'm also 20 weeks and 3 days but got tested early due to me having pre diabetes before pregnancy.
Buy some “healthy” snacks from Whole Foods which have low carb and more protein, it should help you when you wana snack ☺️
Avoid sweets and junk food and some carbs are ok but veggie and protein ratio must be bigger than anything else .. I was induced and they had put me on insulin !! It was a crazy experience… please drink water taking that crap lol like allot of it . Do a 15 min walk or some type of activity
I had GD both pregnancies. My first pregnancy I was pretty active so I didn't have to watch what I ate that much until my second pregnancy. I worked from home so I had to watch everything I ate. I drank lots of water, zero sugar zero carb iced coffees, eggs, lots of ham, bacon, chicken and meat in general, cheese, oikos yogurt, low carb bread and tortillas, pork rinds. Feel free to msg me I still have some of my food log ins ☺️ I didn't have to get induced for this reason
I hateddddddd metformin but I was not about to stab myself in the thigh and my fingers everyday 😩 I ate a lot of keto stuff. Made ham cheese salami rolls (no bread) 🥲 sparkling water and Diet Coke we’re my life savers. It’s insane how much stuff has high carbs / sugar. I’d take my big pregnant self on a long walk if I wanted to eat something “bad.”
@Brynn D the doctor just higher my metformin to 1000 mg but my fasting levels are still somehow elevated as well with her upping the dose.
Eat protein (meat/cheese), veg and salad and avoid carbs
