Sometimes his not finishing the bottle but then still wakes up for more 3 hours later. I don’t really know what to do weather I need to change milk as I think 4oz is okay for him but doesn’t really fill him up
150-180ml 5 times a day is recommended for a baby that age, you’re only giving 120ml. I’d recommend trying to increase the amount and see if it makes a difference 🤞 outside of that, it’s normal for babies to feed often, some feed lesser amounts but even more often than that. He could be having a growth spurt and cluster feeding etc. you just have to follow his lead.
Here’s me celebrating that my 8 week old has finally had 4oz three times in a row every 3 hours… he’s only weighing at 9’8 🙈
@Kellie all bubs are different and their size plays a part. Mine came out huge (10lbs) and a big foodie so was always going to follow that way. 😂 everyone’s normal is specific to them. I think following the rule that if they are not finishing the bottle then stay at that amount and only move up when this changes and stays that way. Eg for a week at least. X
their stomachs aren’t big enough to be filled for more than 4 hours so yes i’d expect it to go on a bit longer
My son is 8 weeks and up until this week has been have 5/6 ozs every 3 to 4 hours. For the past two nights, he has done a 5 hour stretch at night, but he has still had a fussy patch where I've had to wake up and keep putting his dummy back in and pat his chest. That is literally 2 nights though. Up until now it's been 3/4 hours throughout the night too.
@Nat of course… I just feel shit that he’s not drinking as much as they recommend 🥺
@Kellie don’t. He’s drinking what he needs. You’re doing what you can. X
@Nat thank you 😘
My wee boy is 6.3 weeks and was weighed on exactly 6 weeks. He is 12.12lbs and he has a 6oz bottle around every 4 hours. He finishes most bottles or can leave an ounce or two at times. Sometimes in the morning he’ll want fed after 3 hours but that’s if he’s only been up once during the night and done a 5 hour stint from last feed. My HV always said you want a wee bit of milk being left so you know he’s full. Hope it helps. X
