Ugh she/I do love our walks but it's still so hot here 😭that I can really only go out either late at night or early in the morning ...she does love the dancing fruit too! Lol
My daughter is 3 months and we have a semi routine to keep her entertained the first half the day. After every nap we do a feeding and diaper change that way the rest of the time is play before quiet time which is the 10-15 minutes before a nap. After morning rise it's just play mat time so I can eat (this is also the shortest wake period for her), after first nap we go on a walk, 2nd nap is more play mat for my lunch then some tummy time once im done eating. After that it's just go with the flow lol. Sometimes we read, sometimes she watches dancing fruits or Caspar Babypants so I can work on my crochet projects or clean, we usually do at least a little more tummy time, which sometimes involves dancing fruits so she doesn't get fed up with it too quickly. We also "dance" sometimes which can look a bit different depending on my energy levels. Sometimes I'll hold her and bounce/sway/spin, sometimes she just be laying down and I move her legs and arms or standing with my support and I just move her around
My boy is two months and also likes listening to me read adult books aloud. It’s supposed to be good for their brains throughout childhood as opposed to baby talk hearing us speak with greater sophistication and intellect. We are reading Magical Child a book on child intellectual development and Ina Mays Guide to Breastfeeding. We also do “mama and baby yoga” where I lay him down on my yoga mat with a folded blanket under him and do some playful stretching and exercises. Ex: push-up kisses (every time you go down kiss baby’s forehead), peak-a-boo downward dog (alternate between push-up and down dog), feet tickles (child’s pose with nose hair or lips tickling baby’s toes), eye gazing lunges (lunges and warrior poses while talking to and looking at baby), baby reaches (seated side stretch tickle baby’s tummy then stretch away. I say hi baby, bye baby), baby lifts (sit ups lifting baby into the air at the top), baby rocks (holding baby in a rocking position while twisting side to side)etc
Once they get good head control (maybe in another month), they can forward face in the carrier. My oldest did this a lot while I cooked dinner, did dishes or vacuumed.
@Hope my baby has that one too and the Lovevery play gym! She just learned how to roll from her tummy to her back the day before yesterday!
We have a baby gym, ours is a simple wooden one with a few toys. He also has a bouncer seat. A lot of the time he ends up watching his older brother play. We have been trying to read a color contrast book at least once a day and so far he thinks that's pretty cool. Honestly, he's mostly still only interested in food and sleep. I'm hoping he'll get a little more engaged soon cause his brother wants to play
Guess it kind of depends on age. Mine just turned 3 months. We do tummy time, lots of snuggling, watch dancing fruit or ocean underwater videos, go for walks
