Potty training

When does potty training start?? It feels too early to even talk about it, but my daughter on 2 occasions, made a “stink face” to tell me she pooped. Wondering if we’re getting close to the time… Is anyone started potty training? Is anyone not even thinking about it yet?

We have thought abt it but dont have energy to keep up with it at the moment. We r expecting baby #2 any day now. My son will point at his diaper saying poo poo so we know he has pooped. He also comes to the washroom with us and watches the process. His daycare does have the resources to help wit the transition but we are not ready yet for it.

We plan on starting in a couple of month when she's 2. As of now we are reading books about it with her and eveytime she poops explain what happened.

When they're ready. Readiness signs are, can tell you when they've gone or are going. Can stay dry for 2 hours. Interesting in using the toilet or potty. Even if they aren't ready to be fully in underwear, starting to introduce the toilet or potty at anytime is developmentally appropriate. Often people wait until around 2 but I've seen child potty trained as early as 16 months. There's a range.

I don’t think it’s too early if you want to give it a go and can maintain it
