Hey mamma definitely give your provider a call, the sooner you can get ahead of hbp in pregnancy the better! You may or may not have Preeclampsia, but the sooner you make your provider aware of the readings you’re getting at home the sooner they can work with you! I had preeclampsia in my first pregnancy and you don’t want to mess around with that. (Not saying that’s what’s going on with you, just want to gently urge you to let your doc know) ❤️
Sometimes the cuffs you use can make a difference too. They may want to confirm you are getting accurate readings
Talk to your OB about BP pills... and testing. I've had BP issues way before my pregnancy but was never able to get it under control. When I got pregnant, my BP was a huge concern for me. My OB put me on Labetalol 100 MG 2x a day. I'm now 27 weeks, and at my appointment, my BP was 150/90 and so he raised my meds to 200 MG 3 x a day and told me I need to do another 24 hour urine sample or he was admitting me to the hospital for observation.
I would absolutely call your provider. I gained it early on at 14 weeks. They put me on labetalol and it kept me from passing out and didn’t develop preeclampsia. Don’t let it stress you out. Looking back I wish I wouldn’t have worried so much because my baby was just fine even delivering at 37 weeks due to the high blood pressure. You’ve got this momma!
Not sure if it’ll make much of a difference but We were taught to use left arm in nursing school. Your heart is slightly left of the chest and your aorta exits the heart from the left side!
Also I bought a better arm cuff and did left arm always to get the best read. Don’t talk, don’t cross legs, just breathe.
You need to get on Bp meds asap this happened to me I also had protein in my urine and migraines with occasional blurred vision. I’m not trying to scare you but it turned into preeclampsia which turned into helpp syndrome for me and multi organ failure please please please go to L&D or call your provider.
Hi friend! I have a wonderful supplement you can take! I take it daily and it evened out my blood pressure. Completely safe for pregnancy. Also for chronic/gestational hypertension my Dr prescribed baby aspirin every day after 13 weeks. Talk to them about that! I will tag a photo of the supplement :) it seriously made my BP numbers SO crazy good
You need to call your doctors that’s dangerous
I had preeclampsia and was having high bp for no reason
Also! Reminder that high blood pressure spikes can cause your little one to go into distress. Please seek medical help whenever that happens. Search up coming symptoms of high BP and see if you are having any. For me it was headaches and light headedness
Preeclampsia. You need to see a dr like immediately. I didn’t have preeclampsia at all and then boom, I go in at 36 weeks and it jumped up, went to the er, had my son a few hours later through emergency surgery
you need to let your provider know asap!! this will 100% turn into preeclampsia, if it’s not already. sending all the good vibes
