Is there any way to teach a child to stop crying for every little thing?!?!?
Please I have a 4.5 yr old that cry’s for EVERYTHING! I’m big on just because it’s something small to me doesn’t mean it doesn’t matter. I try my best to validate his feelings. I just feel he cry’s all day about everything and it’s taking a toll on my mental health.
Is there any way to reach him to stop crying so much ? He plays his tablet and every time he loses he’s screams and throws himself on the floor. He plays for 30mins and he cry’s every 5 mins when he loses . I’ve tried taking the tablet(but then I feel bad and give it back)
He cry’s if I wash his face and the washcloth is too cold or too hot( I have to make sure the temperature is perfect or he’ll cry)
He cry’s if he’s building blocks and the tower falls over he cry’s
If he’s at the park and there’s a kid that’s running faster than him he throws himself on the floor and kick and scream
He’s been this way since a baby but I just feel at almost 5 these things would start to subside by now and it’s not !
Can someone help me figure out what I can do to teach him he can have big feelings but acting that way is not ok
Honestly, I’d probably do a 180° and tell him that it is okay. It’s okay to be disappointed. I understand that you’re upset. I know you feel sad when you lose, etc. it sounds like you have a highly sensitive child.
