Following as well, she won’t take a dummy and I’m worried she’ll refuse a bottle when we decide to introduce one
When I had my first she literally refused bottle until I had to give her food st 5 months coz it was hard for me. With my LO 8 weeks, I started giving her 1 bottle from birth in the evening after pumping during the day and she is ok with it. My first taught me not to repeat same mistake again
@Anne my LO has been given 1 bottle every night until a week ago when she refused it. I'm unsure why.. we're going to keep persevering..
Refused bottle at first then I realised it was the test for the brand that was the issue so changed it As for pacifiers she never takes any I get
We’re working on this now as my daughter really hated the bottle. We’ve seen a bit of progress with getting a bigger teat (MAM size 1), and gently warming the milk for 3 mins under a warm tap (she was disgusted by if when it was cold 😂). Also having someone else rather than you (if possible) giving the bottle so they don’t get confused. Although we’re still working on this and she’s still not a huge fan… good luck! X
@incognito ooh ok, she will catch up again..it's frustrating sometimes but will get there.
@Isabella same 😢😢What hit the have you tried?
I’m in the sane boat my LO is 7 weeks today and is EBF tried a bottle a week ago once a day at night and she ain’t have any of it and cries 😢😢 got MAM bottle and a TT one. She also won’t take a dummy. She doesn’t settle when her dad picks her up either 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
We were doing one bottle a day and my daughter got fussy about taking it around 7weeks, so the health visitor advised upping it to 2 bottles a day. We persevered offering it twice a day and she’s back to taking them reliably. She’s on a size 1 MAM teat and she prefers being fed laying sideways facing outwards. Hope that helps x
Some babies are absolute bottle refusers and sometimes accepting that helps you to make your peace with it. My LB refused a bottle from about three months, we introduced an open cup and although it was messy he would take EBF from that. You could wear a T-shirt with no bra for a while and get it nice and milky then get dad to wear it whilst she feeds with you out of the house. Try warming the teat and different bottles. Ultimately though your breasts are the best source of comfort and it’s hard to replicate that. Good luck as I know it’s so hard x
My baby is hot and miss with a dummy but takes a bottle fine. Has maybe 1 or 2 expressed feeds a week
Following, my baby won't take either. Would love for her to take 1 bottle a day though.
