Thumb pointing and hand leading

My little boy is 18 months old he points with his thumbs and uses his thumbs to press buttons etc. he has started to grab my hand and take me places. He walks around with his hands up in the air. He also is obsessed with all things with wheels since he was able to crawl. I've looked them up to and it says signs of early detection autism or it could be just development. Would you contact your health visitor for this? (England)

Your post just reminded me that my youngest (almost 3 now) used to thumb point, used his thumbs for everything and walked with hands in the air. I'm can't think now when he stopped doing those things but it's definitely been a long while. He still toe walks and raises his arms when he runs. My youngest is the one without a diagnosis yet.

I wouldn't say autism unless there were maybe some other signs too, maybe wait until his 2 year check and bring it up then, my little girl is 2, she won't point at all, she still can't wave or shake and nod her head, does he have any speech? X

Not sure if it's signed for autism my son at that age and even beyond and still now at the age of five he doesn't point to anything that he wants hand flapping is a sign rocking from one foot to the other for a long time the longest my son has stepped for four hours in front of his tabletsigns of autism he is diagnosed level three if you concern speak to your paediatrician but it doesn't sound like autism to me but getting him checked out and see what your medical adviser thinks

Ok thank you ladies. my 12 year old daughter is ADHD and undiagnosed ASD so I feel like I'm always watching my boy when ever he does something different 😅 xx
