Who called the doctor? The PT or you to say it's concerning? I'd be concerned for possible macrocephaly and if there was any birth trauma/injury to their head that would cause swelling which would increase the circumference of their head. My son had some sort of issue, they still can't pinpoint it (occurred in pregnancy or birth), but I had undiagnosed gestational hypertension and he arrested in the 2nd stage of labor which ended up having a c-section. Long story short, he had a brain bleed and subdural fluid collections which is common to occur after a brain bleed and his head size was always 90% during pregnancy. He was diagnosed with intraventricular hemorrhage at 2 weeks old via head ultrasound and benign macrocephaly.
@Roya His PT. He’s 13 months old and a preemie. His PCP never raised any concerns of macrocephaly .
@Laura he’s 13 months. He had NIPT when he was in the womb and didn’t show anything. He is a preemie though.
I would be thinking the same thing, but my son was like that at my anatomy scan (20wks) and he’s totally normal 1.5 year old baby boy now who is just very big for his age, honestly. My whole pregnancy they kept making me do weekly growth scans and freaking me out. But dwarfism is genetic right? Did you do any blood work for genetics? Because that was what kept me sane, assuming my son was fine when my anxiety wanted to tell me he wasn’t. I knew we had done the NIPT blood work and I assumed something would have shown up in there?
