@Holly he’s 8 months, i think they’re supposed to be babbling by now, wondering if early intervention is better than waiting around for words?
I asked my health visitor last week as my LG isn’t babbling yet either. She barely makes any noise. Lots of grunting or ooo/eee noises but nothing else. Health visitor said not to worry until the 1 year check and then mention it if it’s still an issue. I’m not sure whether that’s correct advice or not, but she said that she looked alert and engaged and interested so not to worry too much
My baby just started babbling like middle of September he will be 9 months on 29th it’s not a lot it’s a couple times a day but nothing crazy.
Babies develop at different rates my little boy who’s 6 now was crawling, saying ma ma, climbing up the couch and cruising at 8 months. yet my little girl who’s just turned 8 months can only roll around and isn’t really babbling at all.
@Charlotte ok thank you for letting me know, seems such a long time to wait if there’s something wrong… i’m going to wait till 9 months and if he’s still not I think I will ask for some intervention
@Joanne they do all develop differently, and just rolling around is perfectly normal at 8 months, i know some don’t even crawl. However babies should reach certain milestones, and babbling is quite a big one as it can mean speech delay later on, which is why I’m concerned
My little is 8 months we had the dinosaur growling for about 3 weeks and then suddenly the babbling came 2 weeks ago
Just thought i’d update incase anyone else’s little still isn’t babbling. I contacted HV who’s said not to worry but they’re going to try move his development review earlier. She’s also said I need to get his hearing checked with the GP
How old is he?? I wouldn’t think you have to contact the hv but if you’re concerned then do it. Mummy always knows best xxx
