@Milly I've been trying to make contact with the health visitor since he was 3 months old, never seen or heard from her since the first visit they do! He had his 1 year development, but they did it at 10 months old and nothing seemed worrying at that point. X
Re head banging, food and energy. My little girl is the exact same I see this as normal for a 14/15 month old.
@Kateland that's reasurring, thank you
My LG is such a fussy eater. She will eat blended food mainly but if its solid food it can't be touching 🤷🏼♀️ don't know why. I know they go through the fussy eating phase. Head banging she will bump her head then have to do it 3 more times just because 🤷🏼♀️ and as for her energy for a little person who has very limited sugar intake she's on the go constantly. Very rarely will she just sit and play. She's such a busy girl. I get exhausted but she's doing it to learn so I don't mind. As for responding to name it sounds like he knows his name from games he just chooses not to respond all the time ... again an age thing. Eye contact I don't believe they do much of this at this age. It's like if I don't look at your can get away with things 🤣🤣 As for sleep some little ones don't need much day sleep if they get lots overnight. How many naps are you on? We're down to 1 for anywhere between 1-2hrs x
All of the above are totally normal age appropriate behaviours. They're still exploring food so having a preference is normal, say for example my son has veggie nuggets he will take off any breaded coating off food and then eat the inside and then the coating, but never as a whole Re responding to their name, at this age, they ar engrossed in play so will seem to ignore you if they're playing but will answer you if you're in front of them for example Re enegery, some littles are just explorers rather than chill, it's normal and actually a good sign they feel safe enough to be so on the go, my boy is literally into everything at the moment Try not to worry, your son is doing things he should be doing at this age x
@Kateland thank you, you've settled my anxiety! We're on one nap a day, it's a fight for one let alone 2! Haha. X
@Casey-Jane thank you! The worry keeps me up at night some days, so it's nice to hear its somewhat expected of them! I'll settle my nerves and just keep observing, and wait for his 2yr check x
How long is he awake for before his nap? My LG is awake 4 maybe 5hrs before nap time. Then we go up and she naps in my bed next to me .... it's exhausting so I nap too sometimes then she's awake maybe 6-6.5hrs before bed. She wakes between 6 and 7 and bed between 6 and 7. It's all very normal. A friend of mine her son doesn't like to nap for long x
@Kateland so he was doing 4 hours apart from sleep but then he started to teeth and sleep has been horrendous. Yesterday he went about 7 hours before a sleep! X
We've had some days like that. Normally if she's unwell or teething. It should get better when things settle down. Are you giving pain relief before bed? X
Re the food, energy and sleep - this all sounds totally normal to me! I can’t comment on the other things but I would say if you have any concerns to contact your health visitor team? Did your LO have a 1 year development assessment with them?
