Tantrum stage

Has anyone else’s toddler hit the tantrum stage? Let’s just say I was NOT ready for how intense they were going to be and I’m really struggling with them, everything is a battle at the moment, as soon as she doesn’t get her own way she loses it. I know it’s a totally normal part of development but it doesn’t make it any easier, it’s absolutely sucking the energy from me 😓 Basically just looking for others in the same position and perhaps some advice as to how you handle them.

Oh yes, the tantrums are here for us too. It’s absolutely awful! He also like to hit everything when he doesn’t get his own way or is having a strop, so that’s fun…. 🙄 It will end, but I’m expecting it to get even worse before it gets better

Oh they’re so intense aren’t they! I knew it was going to happen but you really can’t understand how hard it is until you’re experiencing it, I am as patient as I can be but I do often ‘give in’ because the alternative isn’t worth it to me but know that I’m also making the situation worse because she will know that by having the tantrum, she gets what she wants. I feel like you just can’t win 😣

My little one will not lie down to get his bum changed or dressed. It’s a nightmare. Took me 25 minutes tonight to change his bum and get him into jammies for bed. 🆘

For me it depends how bad the tantrum is. If it’s mild ish I will ignore and not interact because he’ll do it again but if it is really bad picked up and rocked and told it’s okay and explain why I said no for example. That hasn’t worked out for me yet but I’m hoping it does 😅
