I had no clue newborns did this! Mine started doing this after 2weeks of silent sleep! I thought something was really wrong but active sleep isn't something spoken about too much!
My baby is still doing it at six weeks although he was premature. He did stop it by week 5 but we’ve just introduced some formula and he’s started it again. Not sure if there’s any connection. Apparently they’re still fast asleep when they’re doing it. Doesn’t sound nice though and I kept fussing over him until I was told I was disturbing his sleep ironically🤣
I’m kinda experiencing this but it wakes my baby up and he does it through the day too ☹️ its something called infant dyschezia x
My little one did that last night. He was grunting and straining like he’s in pain or wanted to make a poo. I was scared and concerned cos I thought he’s constipated and that noise kept me up all night couldn’t sleep cos I thought he’s in pain or something. Wanted to call his GP this morning but after he had his fed this morning he went back to sleep like nothing happened. Am confused now as to what to do
This sounds like normal active sleep for newborns they grow out of it xx
