A social toddler with possible autism

Hi everyone, My little boy doesn't have a diagnosis yet but is on the pathway to diagnosis due to development delays with speech and communication. He has always been touch and go with eye contact, smiling, babbling etc. It is very much on his own terms and he has often been delayed in meeting these milestones. He also stims very frequently, mainly hand and feet twirling, but also verbally too (shrieking mainly). However, I would say that he is very "social". He loves being picked up and being cuddled. He makes noises to get the attention of his family but also strangers who walk past. He often looks at me to see my reaction to things. He will only fall asleep if I hold him. He loves to play peekaboo and he chases me from room to room laughing. Do you have an autistic child who loves to be with people even if they are delayed communication wise. I am very new to this so just wanted to see if anyone else could relate :)

My son was diagnosed at age 5 and he is very social, loves cuddles, being held, being around other kids and being included in what other kids at school are doing .
