How are you correcting the behavior?
Just make him stop and don’t let him walk on your belly? I’m confused
@Cailie lol me too
@Cailie you’d think it was that easy… he’ll get excited and walk across us to get to the other side of the bed or couch or wherever we are. It’s not something that’s easy to “catch” before he does it he just goes
@Natha using no and “gentle” which he understands in other situations. It’s just him not knowing where he’s putting his paws and idk how to train that
Just stop him from sleeping in the bed or getting on the couch. Unfortunately, you opened that can of worms. You may have to lock him out of the room to keep him from getting in the bed.
He may just need to be separated from the bed/couch unfortunately. Train him to place on a bed next to yours so he no longer jumps in the bed. You aren't going to want him stepping all in the bed while trying to nurse a newborn anyway.
Use a spray bottle lol
when my dog was doing that i started like “spooning” her and letting her lay her head on my belly and bc of how often we did it she eventually felt the baby move. she now has a better idea that there’s something in there and it hurts. my fiancée also tells her “mama not feeling good, you go around” so having that external help also helps
i pretend like it hurts when my dog does that. making a dramatic sound and it has helped. i did a similar thing when they would bite too hard when they were puppies. then reward when they go around next time but i think try being over dramatic like it hurts to see if that helps with the training
Other than pushing them off, not really. My baby girl jumped on my tummy when I was 6 months during one of her zoomies
