Anyone’s toddler sensitive to loud noise?

So...I just picked up my son from nursery and his nanny told me that when is story time and kids are singing or making loud noise, he covers his ears, something that he does not do at home. His speech and communication is great. Should I be worried?

Don’t be worried but maybe speak to health visitor could be early sign of being on the spectrum x

Yes. Mine doesn’t like music that’s too loud, fireworks, hand dryers, some fans etc. it took ages to get him to try going on a bouncy castle as he didn’t like the sound of the air going in. I have heard lots of other toddlers having sensitivity to loud noise and to be fair as an adult I don’t like loud noises either so I don’t consider it a concern as he has no other signs that there’s anything ‘wrong’.

@Jess mine is totally fine with what you mentioned, is just the way his nanny told me made me worried. He never covered his ears till he started nursery and probably the kids were very loud screaming.

My little girl has become sensitive to load noise all of a sudden. But like banging, other kids shouting etc.

My daughter has sensory issues and she closes her eyes when there’s loud noises. She can’t cope with loud noises at all, speak to a health visitor They won’t do much but will advise you how you can help your child x

My little one does this when its just a sound she doesnt like (mainly when the other kids are crying) we mentioned this to the HV and hearing specialist as we wanted her ears checked and they both said theyre ears are still sensitive and they werent worried x
