Thank you that’s what I don’t want ! Want everything natural
I heard when they induce you, they have to give you Pitocin, which is synthetic oxytocin in order to make your body have contractions. When you naturally go into labor, your body will naturally produce oxytocin. The way everyone responds to synthetic is really different and I’ve heard with Pitocin. It’s higher interventions for wanting an epidural, a C-section, and uterine ruptures are more likely to happen
Thank you for the info! I dnt know nothing of this even having my first n this my second I dnt know nothing about pitocin or oxytocin @Shelby
@Gabriela I would definitely google more into it and get more information. I can try to find a link from an accredited place and I can message it to you. my doctor is open to inducing me at 39 weeks however I don’t want to just because of those higher risks that I’m not willing to take
@Shelby thank you appreciate you! And I’m 37 weeks 3 days and I dnt want an c section as I am alone no familu or friend help so it would definitely suck for me with a one year old
I would also ask your doctor to give in depth details about how her inductions go. And tell her your concerns. I know they can administer the medicine in different doses so she could advise on minimum doses so that you have manageable contractions / pain. My doctor was very excited to talk about induction with me (not considering yet) since she said there’s a lot of misinformation online.
Girl I’m getting induced on the 8th I’m beyond nervous idk what to expect
There’s a lot of different types of inductions at the very least I would find out exactly what they intend to do and research risks - with any induction it’s much more painful most of the time & there’s a higher risk of all types of complications & additional interventions. Personally I wouldn’t do it unless I was overdates & my baby was likely to be in distress etc or if it was only way to avoid a c section but everyone has different motivations & risk tolerance - just we should all be informed throughly if we’re doing any kind of intervention or procedures (not even just in pregnancy but healthcare over all imo)
My first baby they induced me at 40 weeks and 5 days. It wasn't what I wanted but based on what was going on at the time I agreed. My experience was that it sucked and my contractions were so bad after pitocin I got an epidural and it still took a really long time for me to dilate and get to the active labor stage. I was able to have normal vaginal delivery without complications. I'm hoping this time around baby and my body figure it out for a natural birth without getting induced ... But some things we just can't control. Everyone I've talked to says contractions after pitocin are worse.
i’ve always heard inductions are almost always more painful and longer labor
