You still have awhile before your doctor would even consider induction. What do you mean hurt your baby? Like intentionally?

@Brittany 🫶🏼 oh yeah no i’d wait until about 37/38 weeks. i’ve been having really intrusive thoughts ranging from crashing my car to thoughts of just being a terrible mom. not to mention she’s already more than likely cracked one of my ribs lol.

You need to talk to someone about your intrusive thoughts. Honestly pregnancy hormones do alter your thinking and I also have had some crazy thoughts and borderline delusions as well. Like I check my front door and windows like 8-15 times before I go to bed to make sure everything is locked and I’ve never done that before but since I’ve been pregnant I’ve felt this unreasonable need to make sure my home is secure 😂 Never did this before I became pregnant. Just know that you’re not alone and you’ll be ok. You just have to learn to reason with yourself and tell yourself it’s the hormones and changes in your body altering your thoughts. But please do talk to somebody. Also I wouldn’t advise induction unless you really need it because those last 3 weeks of pregnancy are really important for your baby to get all the last bits of nutrients and blood they can before he/she is born

They wouldn’t induce you until you’re 39 weeks unless it was medically necessary, but you can ask for an induction, yes. They’ll give you a rough date for when the induction will take place, but since you’ve opted for one you’d be lower priority than women who have to go in for medical reasons. It took 3 days for them to ring me in for my induction.

Definitely call your midwife, hope you start to feel better soon x

No you're not crazy... I don't want to sound like a Debbie downer - but I've heard postpartum can be a roller-coaster as well. Ask about the induction if you need to, but def get support for your mental health. I started therapy as soon as I found out I was pregnant. My anxiety was crazy and I had some crazy thoughts, you're not alone. Lean on your support system (partner, parents, friends, family)... or create one. Therapist, doula, momma friends... you are not alone! Feel free to reach out to me.

Hi there, I’m offered induction at 38 weeks by a gynecologist due to the size of the baby. However from the midwifes I hear that “likelihood of shoulder dystocia increases if you have an epidural. You are more likely to need an epidural if you have an induced labour. Size of Baby has nothing to do with it.”

Just be aware that induction can be tough and lead to more interventions. I’m still a bit unsure myself. But you could also try Accupuncture to induce more naturally
