Thoughts on OT

Have a toddler boy 2 got evaluated and qualified for OT but I honesty don’t know necessarily understand why or how a child needs it I don’t know much as in like what is normal or bad behavior. I feel really bad like I messed up somewhere I’m sure I haven’t but maybe I have ? Idk they said something about he’s a sensory seeker and something about dysregulated nervous system how and what does that mean 😭 I feel like I’m a bad mom 😭

You are not a bad mom. I work with students who have dysregulation concerns. It happens and through OT they can learn to manage their behaviors better. Dysregulation just means that they struggle to manage stimuli appropriately.

There are many sectors of OT. It can reach gross and fine motor skills, how to regulate emotions/behaviors, how to handle outside stimuli, help with feeding difficulties etc. Not really related to parenting tbh

Thank you ladies ❤️ we start here soon
