Some babies never crawl. By 12 months they should be moving around by either crawling, bum shuffling, cruising furniture, walking supported/unsupported. Walking independently is 18 months. If she’s showing a desire to crawl then that’s really positive. There are lots of tips to help them progress like kneeling to play, having them across your legs when you sit on the floor to encourage them to lift themselves up over the obstacle etc
My baby is 10 months in 1.5 weeks and has been the same, seemed close to crawling for months and months and still wasnt, all of her friends were crawling, then yesterday she just started! x
Not all babies crawl, some will skip crawling and go straight to walking. Just continue to encourage her and speak to your HV. From my own experience not all babies walk by 12 months, some don't walk until 18months or even 22 months and they are still perfectly healthy and have no issues with speech or anything. Even as adults our learning speed is different from each other and I think the same applies with babies.
My baby isn’t crawling but has developed a bum shuffle instead. I had my 9-12 month review and the health visitor isn’t really concerned about whether they crawl or not. The mile stone to meet is walking by 18months and she said they can refer if they’re not walking by 18 months she said the stuff in between like crawling, bum shuffling etc can come at anytime inbetween then. It’s frustrating though so I feel you and feel the same way.
My boy showed signs for months and then one day just did it. Until she gets to 12 months and still isn’t moving at all then I’d be concerned. But until then I wouldn’t worry at all. She’ll figure it out one day and you won’t be able to stop her. She might not crawl at all like other people say and might start trying to stand and then walk instead
10 months in a couple of weeks, yesterday he just started army 'crawling' he's still not off the ground at all but he can move! He's been static for months and just cries like a stuck tortoise, he didnt roll till 7 months. Don't worry, little one will get there in the end as long as you have no other causes of concern just wait and they will do it when ready x
Honestly I feel like the only one! My little one is so close but refuses to crawl!
My baby is 10 and half months old and has crawled once (on Tuesday) and hasn’t done it again since but is showing all the signs he wants too 🥰 he just rolls everywhere 😂
My LO is 10 months and only rolled both ways about a week ago. I'm not worried. She sits really well and loves standing. If I put her on her tummy she rolls straight to her back. She has no desire to crawl. Xx
I remember from my NCT group with my first 4 years ago there were 5 girl babies, 2 never crawled, they went straight to cruising at 11/12 months and all were walking by 13 months. Not all babies crawl and that’s ok. Try not to worry or compare. All babies are different.
My LO is turning 10months tomorrow and I feel the same way, she is showing the signs but just won’t move. I read if they are still not crawling or walking at 12 month’s thats when you should be concerned. xx
