Throwing

I know throwing is a skill that little ones learn around 12 months. My little one LOVES to throw things. Anything, and to be fair to him he’s rather good at it 😂 he loves throwing anything and then going to get it and throw it again… the issue I’m having is it is literally anything. He has the little toot toot drivers fire truck which is quite heavy and he will throw that, unintentionally at me I am just in his way 😂 but I don’t want to discourage this new skill as he really enjoys it and is good at it, keeps him entertained for ages, maybe he will turn our to be a baseball player or something 🤣🤣 but getting whacked with hard toys is really not fun 😂 I’m trying to say only throw balls and soft things but he’s 1 and absolutely doesn’t grasp that 😂 anyone else’s 1 year old a menace when it comes to throwing things? He’s not intentionally hurting me it’s just his co-ordination isn’t quite as good as the throwing skill itself 🤣

Not really throwing but I taught my little one how to hammer in wooden pegs on a toy she got for her birthday and she turned out of excitement while waving the hammer and bashed my head with it 😂 tried to redirect her back to the toy and she just went for round 2 😂

Yep, proper little wreck it Ralph throwing everything he can get his hands on! And quite a distance too! They grow out of this phase 😂

We have exactly this. He throws EVERYTHING. And I mean everything. We have the little cars like you say, the toot toot ones and they are thrown. Other day at a baby group he was throwing the stacking cups - and not intentionally, but they were so close to other babies. I try to explain we throw balls and nothing else but he still throws everything. He goes to show me something, shows me it for a few seconds then lobs it at me! X
