His birthday party was at home, I got him to open the gifts in front of everyone and he loved each gift. He was intrigued and happy by them all and he would play with it for a while smiling and laughing (some more than others) so it was a slow process but it was fun! Most of the gifts were from us, we only had family around and they gifted mainly money and clothes. So the gifts we got for him we knew he would like.
We just had his 1st Bday party and we decided to open presents later just 3 of us. Although I see how this can be viewed as rude and maybe disappointing to some, it would just be too overwhelming for both my son and myself. There’s already so much going on and so much pressure. He’s too little anyway. We took photos and short videos of him opening or playing with presents and sent it to some people. Maybe when he’s older we change our mind.
I let her try to open up her gifts then I opened the rest while she played with her new toys.
We’re taking them home and opening them! We just plan on sending videos to whoever got them for him!
We just had his party yesterday. There was no way we could’ve opened all those gifts in front of everyone. We had 70 people lol so we opened them when we got home and he had so much fun! We did open the gifts from grandparents with them on his actual birthday, because it was just us and them, that made them happy! 😊
We’re gonna open at home too. I don’t think it’s rude, as long as you make sure to say thanks after you’ve opened it. I took pics when I opened my baby shower gifts so I remembered who gifted what.
