I would probably hold his hands and say no when he tries to hit. Most likely will lead to a tantrum, but has to learn that it’s not ok and they don’t learn through words at this stage
Yeah my daughter has started doing exactly the same to me and my husband, have been told it’s just an age thing and where they can’t communicate well to us yet. Thankfully she hasn’t been doing it at nursery or to any other family members
This has been my life for a couple months now, I say owww and tell him not to hit mummy, he makes a sad face then cuddles me and I switch up the vibe with tickles or something
So normal my little girl does it but we just ignore it, she doesn't hit anyone else just me or dad so we're just trying not to make a deal out of it at the moment
So normal at this age unfortunately. Just say no and redirect/distract. Hopefully the novelty wears off soon
