Baby losing weight

Just came from our 10 day old check and baby has lost weight for the second time, just a few grams but still not putting weight. He’s mainly formula fed due to me not having enough milk supply. We were told to feed him on demand and that’s what we did. He’s mainly been taking 60ml every 2-3 hours, he would not handle more than 60 ml. The midwife today suggested we try to feed 90ml every 3 hours, even if he’s sleeping but just tried it and he won’t have more than 30ml this time. I feel terrible having to wake him up when he’s sleeping and forcing him to take 90ml when he’s never handled that amount. Has anyone gone through something similar and has any good advice to share? I know I am not, but can’t stop thinking I may be doing something wrong ☹️

I was just about to come on and ask how much babies where having and how often. I’m trying to breastfeed but don’t think I’ve got enough. Baby dropped 10/11 ounces on day 5 and they came back on day 8 and he had only put on 0.005g in the three days. I’ve went out today and my husband gave him some formula and I expressed and he has had 60ml formula at 12:30 and has just woke and had my expressed milk (another 60ml) at 16:00 but struggled to finish it. During the night he feeds every 2/3 hours. When he doesn’t feed, I blow on his face or tickle his foot and it wakes him a little to have another try. They showed me that his arm is stiff at the beginning of a feed but when tummy is full his arm goes all floppy and it’s really helped me with knowing when to stop feeding or to keep waking him up x

This happened to my baby. They started to get worried about her losing so much but I prayed over her. Shes only 9 pounds at 1 month old but the good thing is she gained 2 pounds since birth.

My little one lost lots of weight and was on the verge of being referred to paediatrics...I was told if she gained 20g or less for a 3rd time, we'd be referred. We have issues with breast milk supply as well as a tongue tie which is causing issues with latching but also swallowing and keeping food down from a bottle. I breast feed whenever she wants. She has a bottle of breast or formula (if I don't have enough expressed) every 3 hours or so. If she was feeding on the breast for 30 mins or so top up with 35mls of bottle. If she wasn't latching, give 90mls very slowly to minimise sick. So, we breast feed on demand but offer a bottle every 3 hours. Through the night, I wait for her to wake up for food. I was advised to wake her, but when I did, she cried for so long she was going 4.5 hours between feeds. It's easier to wait for her to wake naturally.
