I remember with my 1st when weaning they often get constipated as they’re stomach adjusts to not just having milk. There’s these things called windi gas passers to help relieve gas, was so reluctant at first but have honestly helped massively with relieving the LO pain. I’d also check about cows milk allergy, my daughter also had that.
@Levi @Rachel this is what they thought first so tried her on pepti aptamil and SMA for cow milk allergy but she still had the puking symptoms so then they said it’s severe reflux which if she has it thickened she’s fine but the constipation won’t go away and now tried her on fruit and veg puree and she’s so gassy and uncomfortable she will cry her eyes out and won’t even sit up full arched back it’s so hard as I don’t know what’s going on with her right now
Have they tried her on an amino acid formula?
@Ally no what’s that not heard of that one xx
So if they suspect Cows Milk Allergy, baby needs a formula where the milk protein is either partially broken down (extensively hydrolysed eg Aptamil Pepti, Nutramigen, SMA Althera) or one where there is no protein at all (Amino Acid eg SMA Alfamino or Neocate) Some babies manage ok on the hydrolysed formulas but some babies will still react to the broken down protein and need an amino acid formula. My little boy has CMPA but still reacted to the hydrolysed formula so we are now on SMA Alfamino. His symptoms were awful reflux, really gassy and uncomfortable and explosive poos. These are so much better now on new formula!
My lb has really bad reflux. We tried carobel first, it worked for about a week but then he was back to projectile vomiting again. He was really constipated on it too. We then tried infant gaviscon and it worked really well almost instantly
Is it possible she could have CMPA or some kind of allergy to something?
