Possible uti?

My daughter is just not really drinking at the moment, but she’s very very sore down there and her wee has a very strong smell to it. Most of the night she’s been crying in her sleep and very fidgety and kicking out. So I’m thinking a uti. What’s best to do as they will need to test her wee but she’s still in nappies. Do I go A&E or wait to the weekend walk in clinic to open? But I think they only have nurses there now not doctors?

If she’s in pain, I’d take her in as soon as you can. It sounds like a UTI. Is she running a fever?

@Becca she’s going through stages where she’s rolling around and kicking and crying then she’s fine but I’m guessing that’s happening when she’s weeing? She did have one last night of 38.1 but she’s also a bit coldy so ordinarily put it down to that but I am wondering if it’s the uti?

Fever and a foul smelling urine are definitely signs of UTI. You can try taking her diaper off and holding her in the tub or something until she urinates to see if that’s when she’s fussing and also to collect a sample for her doctor. Or try to call and see what they recommend for collecting it or if they’d prefer to get it themselves. Definitely get her in soon, within the next 24 hours, the earlier the better

Is she lethargic and acting a bit off besides the fussing in her sleep? I’m not sure how old she is
