Urgent!

I need help, my employer wants me to work onsite because I work from home because of my performance but I let them know I have post partum depression and working onsite will affect my mental health as I am already struggling with it. Random crying episodes and not showering or hygiene I am not comfortable they are asking that I have till the 4th to sort it out but how can I just be okay to work onsite with this mental health condition they said if I don’t go I will be terminated which is another thing that’s causing me anxiety. Can they fire me they seem to not care at all about my mental health and idk what to do if they fire me can I claim unemployment about this issue!!!

Show your support

Unfortunately Texas has very few laws protecting their employees… my friend there was fired by her last job *because* she was pregnant and they didn’t want to pay for her maternity leave. You can likely file for unemployment, but idk how much support they will provide. I’m sorry I can’t be more supportive or helpful. I hope you figure it out 🖤

Look over your work contract or any policies pertaining to your position. I would get a doctor’s note stating your diagnosis and make several copies; send one to HR and your immediate supervisor as well as a copy for yourself. Now given that they are requesting you because of performance; they can and most likely will let you go, but you should be able to get unemployment benefits if that happens as long as you keep record of all documents and conversation.

Yes I have records and texts with my supervisor as well
