Did you tear? I had a third degree tear and I had a follow up call about it and one of the questions was could I feel when I need a wee and If I was able to put the urge off x
Hi Lauren (please seek medical advice if symptoms persist), it’s a normal thing for many women post birth! There are some things you can do to help improve: kegels, bladder training (going to the toilet before you feel the urge), and avoiding certain foods that irritate the bladder (coffee, citrus, tomatoes etc). Hopefully this helps! Hope you’re still enjoying the newborn bliss 👶🏻
Thank you all 🫶🏼
I had this for quite a while after giving birth, pelvic floor exercises and even pleasuring externally helps as it helps tighten. It gradually comes back but takes a while
That’s still very early if this persists would definitely check in with a GP
I was told to go to the bathroom every 1-3 hours, basically anytime the baby had a feed. Definitely let the doctor know. It feels odd but you can also let your baby's pediatrician know when you go in for their first appointment. Our ped always asked us how we were doing, and I got postpartum help and advice from them on occasion
I had a 3rd degree episiotomy/ tear but I can control my bladder just as before I was pregnant
Did you have a catheter? I failed my twoc and ended up with a catheter for a week. Afterwards I felt I was emptying my bladder even though the machine said I hadn't . The let me go without it. It took a few weeks for me to feel like I "need" a wee. Before that I was just taking myself to the toilet regularly to try and empty x
