School funded hours

My boy will be starting nursery in january on the funded hours, so i will be working the 16 hours to get the funded but what happens the weeks hes off nursery for holidays? Am i still expected to work? As he wont be in nursery so surely the funding that week wouldnt be needed? I only get paid when i work, no holiday HELP

Most nurseries allow you to stretch the hours to last throughout the whole year & not just term time. It works out to around 11 hours a week then, but then you’d obviously have to pay for the rest of the hours. If not it would just be up to your work I suppose if they let you have that time off

It's 15 hours a week funded for 38 weeks of the year. You can spread it out or take the school holidays off. X

Does your child go to a private nursery or a local authority school one?

My nursery is term time only, its just i thought i had to earn an amount a week to be able to get the funded hours?xxx

My son goes to a term time nursery, we are lucky we do shifts so work around it and one of us will have him if the other is working. Holiday clubs are on in the holidays? Have you looked at that option? Of course you'd have to pay for that fully as it's not something that can be funded

Yeah i would take the time off to look after him, but my job dont offer holiday pay so id just have to take the week off but id earn nothing is what im worries about

My nursery is open all year round. It doesn’t close of school holidays so don’t have this issue

It’s an average of earnings per week/month. The childcare account asks those questions when you set it up for your code.
