My 9.5 month old does 3 days a week 8am-6pm and heâs absolutely fine. Heâs loving nursery and is only upset when I drop him off but thatâs not even every day and it soon stops. Donât let anyone make you feel bad about it, youâre doing it for your baby to give them all you can. Everyoneâs babies are different please donât let her make you feel anxious because even if they are upset itâs for most a week or 2 while they get used to it and then theyâll be fine xx
From a nursery point of view, children are more settled the more hours they do! Iâve also found theyâre a lot more confident and comfortable in their surroundings which is exactly what you want in a learning environment âșïž
People need to grow up and mind their own business. I went back to work in September and I felt so judged by so many people for having my daughter in childminder 8-4:30 3 days. My daughter is happy, contented and we are a happy family. Ignore the views of others, no one knows your child better than you and frankly people should mind their own business.
My little girl is just over 9 months old and she does 3 days a week 8am-5.30pm and she is absolutely fine! She did a few half days settling in, but I think once they are settled and used to going they donât really have a concept of time anyway - my little girl doesnât know if she is there 6 hours or 8! All she knows is she gets fed, changed, cuddled and that Iâll always come back at the end of the day (whenever that is!) If sheâs was going to cry and be distressed, she would do that regardless of the length of time there! But like others have said if that was to be the case (which is unlikely!), the nursery wouldnât let baby just be upset, they would be in touch and would help you with settling baby in so it eases! You do what you need to do and donât worry about what anyone else says or thinks! Xx
My LB goes 3x days 7.30-5ish and he loves itđ„° Yes he has times where he has been unsettled but on the whole he eats well, plays, loves the girls looking after him and he often now cries when we collect himđ„Čđ Some of us working mums dont have the luxury of choice, your little one im sure will thrive at their nursery tooâ€ïž Xx
My little boy (now nearly 3yrs old) went to nursery 3 days a week 7:30-6:30 when I went back. Yes he struggled at the start but it wasnât long before it was just the drop off that was hard, as theyâd send pics of him through the day happy and playing. Sometimes needs must with nursery, this time Iâm having to drop down to part time hours at work as I would be loosing more money working the extra day but putting them in nursery for that day. Donât let them make you feel bad, at least it will take less time for them to bond with the workers!
Definitely pay no notice. My little girl does 3 days at nursery 7.30 to 5, and a day with her grandparents, similar hours. She absolutely loves it. Goes in with a huge smile and has a great day with the other children. She's just got them run off their feet atm as she's pulling herself up and started trying to climb the past few days đ x

Well thatâs a horrible thing to say! Everyone makes their own choices with childcare and you do what you need to for your family. My eldest went to nursery 4 days a week from 7:30am to 4:30pm and other than being knackered for the first few weeks she absolutely loved it. No crying, no distress, and if that is happening the nursery should inform you and help to work with you and your LO to help them settle into the setting. The staff wonât just leave then to cry and be sad.
