Take them atleast for the full first trimester. Try a different brand. I can't stomach pregacare but I got the gummies from Known on Amazon and they're super yummy and easy to stomach! I also take them at night so that if I do feel yucky from them I don't know it because I'm asleep.
I thought I must be imagining it, but I feel like the pregnacare vitamins turn my stomach too!
I’ve not been taking pregnacare. I work in Superdrug so I’ve been using their own brand of folic acid, vitamin D and omega 3 and they’ve been great. Currently taking bassets gummy vitamins too. They’re all great. I’m 18+4 and not had a problem.
Pregnacare made me feel yucky as well. I switched to the kamsons own brand ones which were better value for money anyway and found them loads better
I’ve still taking Pregnacare (27+5W) ☺️ they don’t suit everyone. I’d recommend speaking to your midwife about an alternative for you before just stopping taking vitamins altogether. They are so vital in your first trimester and believe me, they are still vital in your second and third trimester.
I found pregnacare made me worse, my midwife gave me some and I take them with my antisickness now before bed and manage to keep them in that way x
I was taking pregnacare as well but it made me feel so unwell I was constantly being sick. I asked my midwife and she recommended folic acid with vitamin d tablets from boots x
If you have been hospitalised I suspect we are talking about hyperemesis gravidarum. I had this and had the worst 8 months of my life. They had me stop taking vitamins including folic acid pretty early on as it was more detrimental to take them than not. Plus once you're through the first trimester it's less important and you largely are. I think I stopped at 10 weeks.
@Kim they are so bad, they’re just so big and I feel like they sit right on my stomach. I’ve tried taking them at different times of day however it makes no difference, even if I take them at night I wake up in the night feeling sick or am sick!
Thank you everyone, I actually forgot the midwife gave me 56 tablets of just the nhs brand before so going to give them a go for now and hope they don’t make me feel as bad 🤞🏼
As soon as I changed from pregnacare to another vitamin I felt so much better!! X
See if you can find ones which don’t contain iron. I found that made my nausea 100x worse if they had iron supplements in.
Hope you feel better, @Abbie!
My midwife gave me vitamins the other day as I feel and felt horrible, maybe ask them.

I literally had my midwife appointment today. I asked if I should continue my folic acid. She said it wasn't necessary anymore. I asked if I should start taking pregnancy care tabs... she said they're a rip off lol and that as long as I'm taking vitamin D tabs that's all she's concerned about. Of course every pregnancy is different so double check with your own midwife incase your lacking in something x
Try the bassetts chewy vitamins, I’ve found them much easier to take and seem to have less affect on my nausea than the tesco ones did
@El I managed these for 2 weeks until the taste was unbearable and made me sicker 🤢
I use Proceive and have had no sensitivity. I might add that I am quite sensitive to any supplement/medication and I found the ingredients much better than Pregnacare
I've switched from the pregnacare to Bassett's and think they are better ATM. E.g. pregnacare made me feel so so nauseous but the Bassett's are better even if they taste a bit odd. Fingers crossed they continue to be ok
Honestly I found pregnacare made me 10x worse!! In the end I just started taking folate and vit D from Tesco and I felt much better x
