Just a few questions about the day itself!

So I feel fairly prepared for a planned section on Monday (Arrgh!!), but just wondering about a few relatively minor things.... Is any jewellery allowed in theatre (Earrings etc)? For those who had their own music playlists, how does this work in terms of playing it in the theatre? How long do you get in your own room before being moved to the ward? What sort of little things did you eat/drink afterwards that would be good to bring with me? Thanks 😊

I had to take my earrings out.

Take jewellery off in advance. I lost mine for a while cause it was put in some bag somewhere. You have your arms so you can just play the songs. Tbh just take the password off your phone so they can help you . Wait a bit to eat and drink. I ordered a Chinese

1. I had my earrings out but I was told I could wear my wedding rings. 2. They will plug your phone in but be mindful that you need someone else’s phone for photos. I just went with the radio option. 3. I had 2 hours before theatre in my own room and 2 hours after for recovery, cup of tea, FaceTime calls, breastfeeding help, monitoring. 4. Whatever you want! I had Percy pigs!

I’m Monday too! Freaking out!!

Ideally jewellery out but if there's any you can't take out then they could tape over it (I had 2 relatively new piercings that aren't fully healed). Our hospital brought around a mini safe to keep valuables in - they then take it away to be stored but only you know the code to open it again. Music would depend on the hospital but we just had Bluetooth from our phone and played a Spotify playlist that I'd downloaded. Food. Take plenty. The hospital will have tea and toast and an evening meal (usually a choice of 3 or 4 things and this is for mum only. Dad fends for himself) but remember you'll be in for the night and after a long day you might need a bit of a boost if you have a baby that isn't tired...also, there could be 4 babies on your ward waking each other up so it could be a long night. I took cereal bars, crisps and chocolate and it all disappeared. Also a variety of drinks in case you don't feel like walking to the kitchen (although midwives will bring you a cuppa if/when they can).
