Hi friend! I am a daycare teacher as well as a mama so I so so get this! I would most certainly talk to your pediatrician about it just to be safe. Some kids know words but just don’t want to talk and other need a little help. Nothing wrong either way 🥰

It’s speech delay you can watch some videos so you can give them therapy at home. My son is going through the same thing but since I have tried to teach him he has improved and learned more words. You can also take him to speech therapy in town and they can help you until he turns three I believe

My son is similar, he knows what he wants to say but his brain cant make his tongue do the right thing. Sometimes he says a word clear as day and never again. He's been in speech therapy for almost 6 months and has been making a lot of progress! Never hurts to be evaluated

I would forsure look into speech therapy. I had my son in since just after his second birthday, we also started in preschool and he has taken off saying 3-4 word sentences. By this stage according to my speech therapist they should have most letter sounds and making 3 word sentences. I am sure every child learns at their own pace but there are tips they provide to help you better communicate and I think being around other kids helps.

Yes I agree with the comments. I would get an assessment to see if it’s a social thing or learning. I would reccomend going to the library and getting the abc books. For example, in my box I put a bird and bear and so on. I make the sounds and point at the picture of the animals to help my son. I would also point out Gracie’s corner or ms Rachel. He liked the music. Studies show that majority of the child’s vocabulary/ speech comes from birth to age 3 and we continue to build upon it.
