Colostrum Collecting

I’ve been able to collect about 100ml’s of liquid gold so far at 37 + 6! I started October 14th a little before I hit 37 weeks just to see if I would get anything and I did! My first time I got 6.5ml, it came out a slight rusty color and that was apparently from a small amount of blood mixing in with the milk since it was my first time. Since then it’s been the perfect color (sometimes in the pump it looks like there are literally gold sparkles in it). Now that I’m almost 38 weeks I’m trying any and everything to evict this baby girl 😂 I’m pumping twice a day as of yesterday and was able to get about 4mls total. I’m pretty much out of syringes now but want to start combining my pumps in a bottle at the end of the week to store in milk bags until she arrives ❤️

Lucky! I barely got my first single drop of colostrum today (not even enough to collect) and I’m 38 weeks. Haha good job!

Nice job!! I started collecting this week it’s literally so rewarding and exciting!! Idk why this post just made me realize I can start collecting into bags to start the collection, so excited to do that. Are you also getting lots of contractions while pumping?

@Jackie That’s okay! For a lot of people you have to express a few times before getting anything. For me I get wayyy more after I’ve taken a hot shower and put a heating pad against my chest. It also depends which pump I use. Last night I used my momcozy M9 and got NOTHING from my left side and like a few mls from my right, I used my Zomee Z2 the other day and got basically nothing but with my momcozy S9 I always fill that hoe up

@Kayla Thank you 💗Seriously, I’m always so happy afterwards like look what I did! 😂And yes I get tons of BH contractions while pumping. I figured I may as well start collecting in bags before I go into labor but I have yet to fill one. When you start just make sure you keep track of the date of your first pump so you don’t go past 4 days in the fridge before freezing.
