Chocolate cysts
Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar.
I’ve recently had a c section and during the surgery they removed a chocolate cyst. I haven’t had a follow up appointment or anything… does this mean I have endometriosis? Will it grow back?

@Hannah oh ok! I’ve always had painful, irregular periods but tbh thought it was ‘normal’. I guess it’s something to keep an eye on?
Sorry late to this post! They found a chocolate cyst on one of my ovaries during an ultrasound last year. They said that this did mean I had endometriosis so I would advise following this up. I've seen several consultants to discuss my cyst and the chance is if it was removed, that another one could appear at a later date.
Hi @Gemma thank you for your reply! Do you mind me asking if you had any symptoms before they found your chocolate cyst or was it a surprise to you? I had mine removed during my c section 10 weeks ago and there was no advice to follow up with anyone so I’m confused about it all!

A chocolate cyst doesn’t always mean endometriosis, although is it a sign. It’s just a regular cyst filled with blood, so you have any other endo symptoms?
