Reflux babies.

My baby has always had reflux and is on anti reflux milk which has helped a lot. She barely gets sick anymore except from what the average baby does from time to time. She’s always held up for 20 minutes after her last bottle before bed and during the day she is either held up, put in her bouncy chair or pram after a bottle. She’s leant to sit up and this is causing her to projectile vomit even 3 hours after a bottle. I don’t want to stop her from sitting up by I have no idea how to stop this from happening. I assume her tummy can’t deal with the pressure? Has anyone else had the same problem? Thanks!

I had a sicky baby on gaviscon. When she started sitting up she was sick cause she was leaning forward. We EBF, so I just ended up feeding her more often but she did smaller feeds. It is a short phase whilst she builds up muscles in her trunk! Doing things to help her hold herself upright helped, I used to put my nursing pillow behind her.

Sorry to jump in, but we are thinking of starting our little one on Anti-Reflux formula. Did your LO get constipated? Is there something we would need to do? GP and HV are dismissing our concerns, telling us to wait it out, even though he's losing half of his feed if not on Gaviscon...

@Mantha she did get very constipated on gaviscon and we got prescribed some laxatives but used them once because of how upset it made her. We saw a baby osteopath which MASSIVELY helped the reflux and I also started spacing out the gavsicon doses instead of doing every feed (she was feeding 16 times a day). We did one sachet every 4h and eventually were able to do none at night time. I basically tailored it to how sicky she was because the constipation was so uncomfortable for her! They do outgrow it and by 4m she was basically only needing gaviscon occasionally.

@Kelly Thank you. That's very comforting. ☺️ Our LB eats 5-6 times/day and we only give him the Gaviscon 3 times maximum. We do give him a laxative, but not twice a day like the GP wanted. And he's pooping just fine. We just want to switch to Anti-Reflux formula so we don't have to medicate him all the time
