Christmas ideas

Really struggling on what to get my little girl for Christmas she will be 17 months by then. I know a lot of people are going for the toniebox but I find that it’s so expensive along with the characters and I don’t think she will really be that interested in it. Any suggestions will be really helpful x

Have a look at yoto for a cheaper alternative! We're getting one but ours is a bit older, I'm not sure how much she'll love it immediately but am confident she will grow in to it over the coming months. Yours has a better space between Christmas and birthday so Tonie or yoto could be saved until then, they change so much in a short space of time, you might find she's more ready by 2. I would recommend more role play toys e.g tea set, play food, kitchen stuff, tool box vet set that sort of thing, more grown up toys for as she learns to play more imaginatively 😊

@Rachel yes that’s what I was thinking more for when she’s older I don’t mind buying it but I really don’t think she would interested at this age personally! I try reading books to her a lot and she just will not sit still nor listen to me at all😭 so don’t want to pay out for something expensive that she won’t be interested in. my mom already has got play kitchen, tea pot set, a little doll, she’s already got a tool box. She plays with her babies now and feeds them! :) Vet set is a good idea! But I’m really struggling. I’ve got her clothes and a puzzle so far 😂😂 not much fun opening clothes on Christmas as a toddler so I need some ideas 😂

Last year when my youngest was around a similar age I Amazon searched Montessori toys and quite a few good bits came up! This year we’re doing fancy dress things so depending what your little one likes those could be good options?

@Laxmi ahhh thank you!! I’ll have a look now at those! X

Mines obsessed with books so that's been a big decider for me- you can record your own cards so maybe when she wants the same book on repeat she'll accept a yoto recording 😂😂😂 we got ours a little indoor climbing frame (which my older nephews really enjoyed too) for her birthday, other ideas that I've asked for this year- playdough, bath toys, a 'busy board' for the car, nesting dolls, a toy trolley to push about(she has a cash register and loves that)... Would she like something like a toddler tower? I guess it's not exciting to open but honestly mine got overwhelmed opening stuff last year and I think she will this year too so I'm trying to keep the amount of presents down so she can focus. Mine loves her tower 'helping' me in the kitchen(making a mess and biting raw potatoes)

My little one used to love me reading to her, she has so many books but now it’s an absolute chore to get her to listen😂 I don’t know what went wrong 😂 she just loves playing and she’s like nope I’m busy mom😂 meanwhile I’m just reading the book to myself at this point 😂 & she already has a little market with a cash register, my mom has a push a long trolley at her house, she has a busy board already, playdough, building blocks.. she has most things! 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ and oh definitely! I went all out for her first bday with presents , we saw family and went to the sea life centre and omg was she overwhelmed so don’t want to do the same at Christmas! Awww bless her!! I’ve seen those towers!! I might look into getting that as she’s very much wanting to get stuck into everything I’m doing!

My boy currently loves playing with the velcro fruit and veg that you can cut in half. That could go with the kitchen if you haven’t got already. I’ve not got really any good ideas on his Christmas list though, we’ve pretty much got everything going already 😂 he’ll just be happy to rip wrapping paper, so I’m not worrying about him getting many toys, he’ll have no clue.

Our LB will be 18 months at Xmas and he LOVES helping with housework so we have got him a wooden kitchen and some bits to go with it, hoover, mop set etc. other than that he is just getting some little bits like puzzles, a magnetic drawing board bits like that x

@claire I’ve been looking at a little hoover for her cos she’s obsessed with mine! Lol. She also plays with my nephews housework toy set when we go over there so I’ll look into it!! I’ve got some little puzzles too!! X
