Especially if your baby is long might just need help developing the stabilization muscles!
I was hoping she would start sitting up after she learns to fully crawl!
@Kennedi I was really worried about this too because I always thought they would sit first before crawling but I guess babies just do everything in their own time aha
My 5.5 month old crawling and not even close to sitting on her own. Hair immediately goes back to her belly an crawls
My daughter will be six months old in about a week and half, she’s sitting without assistance but she’s not sitting up yet (getting herself in a sitting position on her own). She does however crawl everywhere and has been for about three weeks now. A trick I learned from my oldest was when they are laying down, grab one arm (say the right) and pull the arm to the left leg. It helps build the muscles needed for sitting up independently. Also pushing down on their thighs!
I don’t think it’s a concern until closer to 8m if they are not sitting up. Babies tend to learn new skills out of nowhere! You may think they aren’t ever going to do it and then one day they just do!
My baby boy will sit up for a lil then jump into crawl. You can use a lil baby chair to help with sitting. This basically helped him adjust
@Sierra so true! Happens very fast
Hey my baby learned to crawl before sitting! As soon as he became proficient at crawling he was sitting up fully after a few days! I think it helped build his core:)
