@Claire Thank you for supporting me! And thank you for wording it for me💕💕💕
Of course!! I know it is super stressful to deal with something like this, especially when the doctor isn’t concerned (and probably they are right!) but with as much info online as we have access to, I feel like we deserve complete explanations to alleviate our fears
I have high TSH too and if I were you, I’d make an appointment with an endocrinologist. I am seeing both endocrinology and the OB and the endocrinologist is ordering labs and adjusting my meds.
*I am not a medical professional* but your tsh level was quite high, and a quick google suggests increased risk of miscarriage during first trimester (which you are well through yay!) and increased risk of prematurity and low birth weights later on. If it were me, I’d press a bit further. I have a family history of pre eclampsia, and the way I approached that with my doctor was 1) what are the symptoms and when might I notice them? What do I need to be aware of? And 2) what can I proactively do to reduce my risk. I’d say to your doctor: I am still a bit concerned about my earlier tsh. I’ve read that higher tsh is associated with lower birth rates and prematurity. Since you don’t want to re test, what makes you confident that I don’t need to worry about either of these issues? Are there other symptoms I might be experiencing if this were to be an issue? Are there any risks to testing my tsh again? Good luck 💙
