I would phone the 24hr Midwife line at your nearest hospital, GPs can be so misunderstanding in this situation, but if you explain to the midwifes how far you are and a gentle description of your history they are a little more forthcoming and can prescribe you there, they may even also give you 75mg asprin "baby asprin" alongside for safe measure x
@Dani it was the epu that told me this
You're joking! I'm so sorry! Considering the NICE guidelines have changed with Progestrone, you'd think they would catch up already! This makes me so mad.. may I ask if youve had reoccurring MC issues?
@Dani this was my forth 2 weeks ago , I’ve been referred to the recurrent mc clinic but that could takes months so wanted to be prepared if I caught before , can I ask the nice guildlines ?
The NICE guidelines specify that progesterone treatment should start when a scan confirms an intrauterine pregnancy, which probably wouldn’t be before 6 weeks, so it sounds like the EPU are acting in accordance with the guidelines.
It’s not available without a prescription. Your only option would be to pay for a private consultation with a doctor who would be willing to prescribe it.
